Autumn.
It’s sitting just on the edge of my consciousness. I’m not quite ready to let go of summer yet. But as the kids go back to school and the leaves start to crinkle beneath my feet, I guess there’s no avoiding it.
When I think back on the summer I’ve had, it’s been pretty amazing. I’ve done my best to tackle my list of summer “must-do’s” and I’ve documented all of it. I’ve spent time with fabulous people and tried some awesome new things. I will remember this summer.
I was lying in bed this morning, wondering what I was going to write today, and all I could think about were some of the amazing people I know, and the equally amazing things that they’ve done. And as I reflect back on the summer I’ve had, I hope that all of you amazing people know that you are part of that reflection.
Some of you have inspired me and made me so incredibly proud (remember Robyn who was raising money and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro this summer? She did it. And raised $12,000 for hospice to boot – $2000 over her goal!).
Some of you got married.
Some of you got new jobs.
Some of you celebrated milestones.
Some of you traveled.
Some of you finally stayed home.
Some of you planted seeds, both literally and figuratively.
Some of you warmed someone else’s heart. Some of you warmed my heart.
Some of you had babies. Some of you let babies go.
Some of you read books. Some of you wrote books.
Some of you took big steps. Some of you took little, but equally important steps.
Some of you danced. Some of you sang. Some of you were felt in the audience.
Some of you made decisions that will leave a positive imprint on your life forever.
Some of you made contributions. Some of you gave thanks. All of you made a difference.
Some of you had great adventures. All of you have great stories.
So, pardon the cheese today folks, but I’m in awe of each and every one of you – those of you I know personally, and those of you I don’t. You’ve done something amazing this summer. You’ve done something amazing in this life.
Don’t stop. Someone is paying attention, I promise.
Like right here – share your amazingness!!! What amazing thing (big or small) have you done this summer? Or this year? Or this lifetime?
